  1. Name: Michael A. Hawk Nickname: Hawk DOB: Stardate 9139.22 Race/Gender: Human/Male Age: 27 Height: 5`10" Weight: 185 lbs. Hair: Light Brown Eye Color: Blue Place of Birth: San Francisco, Earth HISTORY Born on Stardate 9139.22 at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco to parents Anthony and Susan Hawk. At the early age of 9 it was clear Michael had a fascination with the stars. At this early age while other children would be outside playing sports and other such activities, Michael would listen to subspace channels and build model starships. His obsession to find out how technology worked and his drive to learn about new starships being built by Starfleet it was obvious to his parents Michael was to become an engineer. At the age of 18 he applied for a posting at Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems on Mars. He was approved for the posting and for the next four years was a part of the multi-tiered warp field development team. At the age of 23 Michael left his job at Yoyodyne and applied at Starfleet Academy. In his first 3 years at the Academy Michael showed little intrest in social interaction and dedicated most of his time to his studies. Michael received high scores on his engineering and technical studies though his other studies were ranked as average. During his last year of the Academy Michael showed improvement in regards to social interaction and was occasionaly seen at the Red Star Lounge, albeit alone in the corner contemplating quantum theory. MEDICAL HISTORY Chief Medical Officers Log Starfleet Acdemy Stardate 9401.20 Mr. Hawk's Medical records and recent physical show him to be in all around good heath. Mr. Hawk's records do show that at the age of 22 he was involved in a accident on Mars, at the Yoyodyne Propulsion Facility were A Coolant Conduit had ruptured and a support brace had come down upon Mr. Hawks back. He was rushed to Flax Medical Center where he underwent spinal surgery. I feel confident that this past injury will in no way hamper his ability to perform his Starfleet responsibilities. I do note it in this log for the sake of being thorough. I herby give medical clearance for Michael A. Hawk to continue active duty in Starfleet. Amanda Forte Cheif Medical Officer Starfleet Academy PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION Counselor's Log -- Starfleet Academy Stardate 9401.20 Michael Hawk has, in my professional opinion, dealt superbly with a situation many find difficult -- an entry into Starfleet Academy at an age later than that of the general population. His intelligence and drive to succeed and learn about his subject of interest is exceptional. However, it has come at a price -- he has had difficulty in adjusting to social situations; I understand that much of his childhood was spent more with engines and models than with other children, and he has never quite adapted to the psychological necessity of human contact. He has shown improvement on this score in recent months, as his instructors have impressed upon him the necessity (even for engineers) of connecting with one's fellow crewmates as well as with the machinery. Hawk will prove a valuable member of whatever crew he serves with because he is tenacious, a hard, driven worker, and passionate about his subject. He will benefit from entering a ship's engineering corps, which will force him to make interpersonal connections as well as fix plasma conduits. I highly recommend for graduation and assignment Mister Michael A. Hawk. Sarah Helena Patterson Starfleet Medical -- Psychiatric Division GRADUATION Graduated from Starfleet Academy on Stardate 9401.21 specializing in Warp Field Theory and Quantum Mechanics. Michael ranked in the 89th percentile of his class. After Graduation immediatly put in a request to be considered for an engineer position aboard the still under construction Excelsior Class, USS Challenger.
  2. Hawk sat there alone in his apartment three days after his graduation from the Academy. His eyes scrolling over the recent construction logs of the USS Challenger. "looks like they are still on schedule", he said to himself Even during the last year of the Academy while the Challenger was still in its early stages of construction Hawk would always try to find time between his studies to find scraps of information regarding the ship and its new technology. He sat there with anticipation and worry. He had sent in an application for consideration for a posting to the Challenger, but he knew there were other more experienced officers that had also sought intrest in joining the crew, ....many more. As he went over the construction logs that same feeling he had felt for over four years started to creep into his stomach. He slowly put down the contruction reports and turned to one of the very few objects that adorned his apratment, a simple picture in a black frame. In the picture was a woman with peircing brown eyes and light curly hair. As Hawk gazed into the picture his youthfull looking face seemed to age 10 years. "Well hun, is this what you wanted?", he said while still glaring into the picture. Hawk looked around the bare room then focused his attention back upon the lone picture. His hand raised and his finger touched the picture and slid down its length. Turning his head back to the reports "Ahhhh they have completed the Deuterium tank installation....."
  3. Congrats on graduating. Serve your ship well.
