Excalibur's senior staff (that's you) have been enjoying several days of leave at Deep Space 9 following the Battle of the Wormhole, while an extensive review of Excalibur condition has been completed to determine salvageability. Senior staff have been called to a meeting in DS9's ward room.

Excalibur has arrived undertow after several weeks to the sprawling shipyards high above Cait to undergo significant repairs. Although the repairs will be technically led by the dock crews, Excalibur's crew that have decided to stay will assist and supervise as needed. Captain Swain is on extended leave, placing Commander Miranda Hawthorn as the senior officer. Excalibur's crew have been assigned quarters in the large administration complex in orbit and are free to explore Cait at their leisure. Engineering, however, have been schedule to meet with Captain Cerra Cohen, the shipyard administrator.

Excalibur is undergoing an extensive repair and refit at the orbital yards on Cait following the Battle of the Wormhole. Captain Swain continues to be on extended leave, putting Commander Hawthorne in command while the refit continues. Many of the Excalibur's crew have chosen to be stationed on Cait while the work is underway and continue to find their way, while Engineering is working with the facilities civilian and mostly Caitian personnel. During their initial meeting, Captain Cerra Cohen, the facilities manager mentioned they had experienced uncharacteristic delays as of late. So far through the first week, Excalibur has not yet to have one -- though several other projects have had 'incidents' which have taken resources away from Excalibur.

Repairs and refits on Excalibur continue, though there have been several delays; some of them are of the ordinary sort and to be expected with such extensive operations, while others have been less... ordinary. Engineering has been asked to assist providing additional manpower, while other members of the crew continue to settle into their alternate assignments.

An explosion aboard the Excalibur has caused Commander Hawthorne to recall Excalibur crew in the area back to the orbital station. Wounded are coming in from various teams who were working aboard the Excalibur when the explosion happened. Captain Cohen and Commander Admiran have arrived at the only currently operating hard-point a bit worse-for-wear, but otherwise unharmed. Now we must sort out what has happened.

Following an explosion aboard Excalibur during her refit, the Excalibur crew in the area have been recalled and ordered to report to Commander Hawthorne. Search and rescue efforts are underway, and a small team from Excalibur had headed towards the locus of the explosions. As we left off, Maryse's tricorder showed some usual and unusual radiation readings. Questions?

The Excalibur has been damaged during repairs. Recovery efforts are underway and a specialist forensic team from Cait has arrived to begin investigating the explosion, which Hunter has been assisting. Commander Admiran and Dr. Dubois were on their way to engineering to investigate one of the crazy Trills hunches, while Ithene and Hawthorne continue to pick up pieces.

While investigating the explosions our intrepid heroes -- and the Trill -- had discovered an individual apparently tampering with the warp drive. The shadowy figure fled, with a fire fight ensuing, but before they could be apprehended they used a personal transporter to really flee the scene. Unfortunately for them, y'all rolled well and we discovered the coordinates. As we paused, we were about to find out if they had escaped in their ship or not as Hawthorne, Will's cutout, and Ithene were firing a tachyon burst towards the coordinates.

The Excalibur has been refitted and repaired. All crew has been recalled from personal leave and other assignments in preparation for a new mission. The engineering team has been awaiting only a final inspection from Starfleet before shoving off, but Miranda has received some disturbing news that might delay their departure.

Excalibur has been "chosen" to serve as the test-bed for a new, slipstream drive that would allow for 'faster-than, faster-than-light' travel. A project team from Utopia Planetia has arrived and begun installing the sophisticated drive systems required, including upgrades to our warp core and deflector dish. Captain Swain is still on leave, placing Commander Hawthorne in command. Initial trials will be conducted soon and final preparations are being made for Excalibur to leave the Caitian shipyards.

After several days of installation and several diagnostic tests, Excalibur has departed from the Caitian shipyards under command of Captain Illyan to begin testing of Starfleet's experimental slipstream drive which utilized quantum fields to allow for Faster-Than, Faster-Than-Light Travel. Excalibur is the first true-trial of the technology to date.

Our latest test was a bit, well, bumpy. The CO has retreated into her Ready Room. The crew has begun to be more than a little worried.

Testing on the slipstream drive has came to a halt as Tandaris and company continue to run tests to determine the stability of the core and ship while Medical is running tests on the crew themselves.

Excalibur has returned to Earth orbit and has docked at McKinley Station where a team of engineers have begun to remove the experimental bits of the slipstream drive. Now-Commander Ithene Vallorn has already departed for her new role aboard the USS Grace Hopper as XO. An unknown VIP is scheduled to arrive soon and senior staff have been gathered in docking area.

Excalibur has just arrived in the Irassa system to conduct a full survey of the system, but particularly Irassa IV, a Savannah-like planet orbiting a B-class star with an unusually high rotation. Previous surveys of the planet have focused largely on a set of old ruins on the southern-most continent. This will be the first full scale survey in over a hundred years of the mostly out of the way system, notable only for its proximity to the Neutral Zone.

Excalibur is orbit of Irassa IV where they are conducting a wide-scale planetary survey. First up, many of our teams are exploring the ruins of a long abandoned city dating back several hundred years.

The Excalibur is continuing its survey of the Irassa system. Aboard the ship, Swain and the astrometrics nerds are monitoring a sensor disturbance while waiting for scans of the star to come back. Planetside, survey teams have spread out across the area. One unfortunate Bolian found out a particular plant in the system is toxic. Meanwhile, a number of the starring cast are exploring an underground transit system and have located what appears to be newer construction and some sort of vault door.

Our adventures exploring Irassa IV continue. Team Miranda has discovered, essentially, a large shaft drilled several hundred meters down in the 'newer' area of the underground transit network. A team of archaeologists have arrived behind them and are beginning to map the rest of the network more thoroughly. Medical is helping some folks with a thorny issue. N'Dak and Harper continue to explore a large obelisk at the center of the ruins, while aboard Excalibur the first readings from the solar probe are beginning to come in.

The survey of Irassa IV continues! When we last left out intrepid heroes they were exploring what appears to be a control room below the surface of an abandoned city. Back at base camp, the Medical team continues to assist with various bumps in the exploratory processes as it were. On board Captain Swain and the nerd crew have started to get telemetry back from their solar probe.
